Tamela Mann Talks About Healing and Growth on New Album, “Live, Breathe, Fight”

Gospel singer and actress Tamela Mann recently released her latest studio album, “Live, Breathe, Fight.” The Grammy Award winner is known for her roles in multiple Tyler Perry films and for breaking the record for the most number 1 singles on the Billboard Gospel Airplay chart. With this new project, Mann aims to connect with her fans and inspire hope through her creativity and faith.

With two singles, “Hand On Me” and “Working For Me,” previously released, Mann is showcasing a variety of musical influences in her album. The country sound in “Working For Me” reflects her Texas roots, but she promises that fans can expect to hear even more diverse sounds on the album.

“I have a little Motown and quartet kind of vibe on here, too. We have one song for those who grew up in gospel and another one that is like a swing kind of throwback. I’m still sticking in the vein of gospel. You know, that foot-stomping kind of gospel to keep that thing alive.”

Live, Breathe, Fight is not just an album but a testimony. The biggest takeaway Mann wants fans to know is that no matter what you are going through, you will find a way to make it to the other side. Change is inevitable and not always a bad thing. Experiencing certain obstacles is crucial for personal growth and becoming victorious.

“A lot of times, I have never really talked about being hurt and disappointed. I’m normally pretty joyous and try to be very encouraging. But I give some insight into the hurt and disappointments I’ve dealt with in this album. So, I’m showing a different side of me. I give glory to God for him giving me the strength to work through things. When you hear the whole album, I just pray that the Lord attaches everything and every song to everybody. I pray that each song resonates with each person and applies to their lives.”
