A Mother’s Mission: Jenece Bond, Championing Awareness And Support For Dravet Syndrome

Jenece Bond & Taylen Lauren Horton

Jenece Bond, the dedicated mother of Taylen Lauren Horton, is on a mission to raise awareness about Dravet Syndrome, a rare and severe form of epilepsy that has profoundly impacted her family’s life.

Through the Taylen Lauren Horton Foundation, Bond is working to shed light on the challenges faced by caregivers of children with this condition and to provide much-needed support to those navigating similar struggles.

Dravet Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that causes frequent, prolonged seizures, developmental delays, and other serious health complications. Bond’s daughter, Taylen Lauren Horton, was diagnosed with this condition early in life. As a result, Bond has experienced the emotional and physical tolls that come with caring for a child with such complex medical needs.

Bond founded the Taylen Lauren Horton Foundation, and with the support of her ex-husband, comedian Will “Spank” Horton of the Plastic Cup Boyz, their shared goal is to raise awareness about Dravet Syndrome and support other families facing the same challenges.

The foundation provides resources and education for parents, caregivers, and medical professionals, focusing on the unique needs of children with this rare condition.

“We felt it was important to create something that could help others like us, who may feel isolated or overwhelmed by the lack of information and support available,” Bond said in a recent interview. “Dravet Syndrome is life-altering, and families need a strong support system to navigate the many challenges it presents.”

Bond’s work with the foundation has gained recognition in the medical community and among advocates for rare diseases. Her efforts have included fundraising events and online resources designed to inform the public and provide much-needed aid to affected families. Superstar comedian Kevin Hart has even donated to the cause and offered a space where Bond will host Tay’s Play Day on December 8, 2024, at the Kevin Hart Studios in Los Angeles.

Co-parenting with Horton, Bond has remained focused on their daughter’s well-being while using their platform to further the foundation’s goals. The partnership between Bond and Horton has shown the power of unity when it comes to raising awareness and making a tangible impact on the lives of children like Taylen.

Bond hopes to expand its reach as the foundation continues to grow, offering more support services and helping to drive advancements in the treatment of Dravet Syndrome. Through her tireless dedication, Jenece Bond is making a lasting difference, not only in her daughter’s life but in the lives of countless families affected by this devastating condition.
